How to find businesses without websites

· 6 min read

This is the short, repeatable version of the process: search, filter, verify, prioritise, contact.

Search

Choose one city and one business category. Broad searches across a whole state produce lists you never finish and pitches you cannot personalise.

Filter

Remove anything that already links a website, anything with no reviews or photos, and franchise outlets. Zertex applies the website filter automatically on public listings; the rest is a quick visual scan.

Verify

  • Search the exact business name plus city — some sites are not linked in the listing.
  • Check the listing looks active in the last few months.
  • Confirm there is a working business phone number.

Prioritise

Contact first the businesses where a website changes revenue directly: appointments, price lists, galleries, admissions and orders. Leave pure walk-in trades for later.

Contact and record

Call or WhatsApp with one observation and one image. Record the date and outcome for every prospect — Zertex stamps this for you as you go — and follow up twice before closing the file.

Refresh quarterly

Local markets change slowly, and a 'no' from three months ago is often a 'yes' after a competitor goes online. Rerun the same city and category every quarter and compare against your saved list.
